Many people think they’re athletes, when they’re just couch potatoes that go to the gym and lift weights. Likewise, some people don’t care about exercise and think they’re not athletes. How can you recognize that you are a born athlete? Common signs include;
- Being interested in sports from a young age.
- Having an interest in exercise as opposed to being obsessed with food or TV
- Having an obsessive-compulsive personality trait (like being highly organized or cleaning obsessively)
- Actually exercising frequently!
To become a superhuman athlete, you must take steps to improve your performance and build your endurance:
- Increase your daily physical activity. Try to get at least 30 minutes of moderate-intensity exercise every day. This could be any workout that steps up your heart rate like running, biking, or walking.
- Include interval training in your routine. It involves switching between low-intensity and high-intensity activities. This type of training has shows to have similar benefits as longer, steady-state workouts.
- Don’t use performance-enhancing drugs (PEDs). While some athletes use PEDs to improve their performance, these drugs can have negative side effects and may even lead to long-term health problems.

These previously deemed “athletically impossible” acts have now been proven doable, thereby pushing the limits of human capability even further.

1. Transform the idea of what risk or danger is to you.

2. It’s time to focus.
You will need long uninterrupted periods of focus to ignite a flow state. That’s why you may notice how more efficient you become whenever you are in a place of quiet, free from all the distractions of life.
3. You need a rich environment.
The rich environment Kotler was talking about here is a place that consists of complexity, unpredictability, and novelty. All these elements tend to grab our attention the same way danger does.
4. Meet the challenge ratio and obtain accurate skills.
Find the perfect balance or the sweet spot. The perfect balance should be somewhere a little above your skill capability but still achievable. A general rule of thumb for ascertaining the perfect balance is 4% above your natural skill capabilities. This is to help you push beyond your skill level but not to the limit.
5. Set specific goals.
Remind yourself why you are doing what you’re doing to stop your brain from wandering away. By constantly declaring the reason behind the exercises you’re performing, you keep your brain from getting distracted.
While there are no shortcuts to becoming a superhuman athlete, there are things you can do to make it easier. First, you need to eat right. If you don’t have the proper nutrition, you may struggle just about everywhere. Secondly, you need to train hard. It doesn’t matter if your training is intense or light; as long as you’re making efforts, you’ll be able to see results.
Thirdly, you need to prepare for all situations. No matter how well-prepared you think you are, you probably aren’t. So be ready for anything and everything that comes your way because no one is perfect, and everyone else has their weaknesses. And lastly, consider the flow state strategy. Also, make sure you execute it!
